Bernhard

thinks that already too much has been published about himself in the internet, for instance on his own homepage. So let's just say, he is our man, when it comes to rule-writing and playtesting.

This unique picture shows him after he has worked all night to finish several meters of the Peking town-wall right on schedule for a convention.

Carsten

is a promising new novelist. His novels, short stories, audio books and readings focus on fantasy, steampunk, horror and thrillers. He gets some of his inspiration right from our wargaming-sessions. He is eager to participate in any game regardless of the rules and scenario, which makes him a very pleasant gamer. Find out more about him on his homepage

The picture is taken with him in front of his very own steampowered castle in the air

Eymard

reincarnated in 1968, Cologne immigrant and archaeologist by profession. Already his teen-age brought about a substantial collection of historical Atlantic and Playmobil miniatures. His true Passion for Wargaming (and strewing?) emerged with his initiation to modelling, starting with 1:72 WWII and later on Elves an Knights in 28mm. His hobby is „never two miniatures alike“. His occasional appearance at early medieval reenactment fairs included swordfight and bellydance (allright, drumming for the dancers) and some scars as well. Presently his hobby focus lies in low-technology SF and alternate history of the 19th and 20th centuries. In his capacity as a studies history scientist he is inclined to developing meticulously elaborated background stories and scenarios, for: „everybody can play competition rules “. Right now he likes to challenge himself by trying to assemble a preferrably ubiquitously deployable, realistic WH40K army with the use of as few as possible GW miniatures. (The team descibes him as downright creative, even visionary and very spontaneous – we like him inspite of or actually because of that.)
The pictures captures him, displaying total disbelieve in the turnout of his brilliant battle plan!

Georg

was born 1967 and lives in Hilden. He earns his living as a computer-programmer for a well known insurance company. In the hobby since 1988 and learned about wargaming through role-playing, thus being spoiled by GW-merchandising. For him wargaming does not need to be 100 percent historical. He likes Fantasy and SF even more. Another exotic hobby of his is dragonboat-racing.

Here you can see him, trying to spot the white enemies eye's.

Heinz

from Krefeld. Actually his full Christian name is Heinz-Dieter. At the time writing of, he is the freshman in our team. He is a gifted painter of historical miniatures and paints fast and very professional. This does not prevent him from experimenting with new techniques. He is always positive and cheerful. In short: We luv ya, Heinz!!

What are they up to now? Ordering my Landwehr to face the enemies artillery? I'd better turn a blind eye to this.

Holger

was born and is still living in Duesseldorf. He was born in 1967 and his profession is media-design. As a youngster his favourite hobby was modelling until he learned about wargaming in 1985. His graphical talents produced most of our handouts, flyers and lots of pictures for our website His main area of interest spreads from the gunpowder-era into the far future. His favoured stratagem is: "Do the unexpected and puzzle your opponent!" A tactic which sometimes backfires.
He hates rule-discussions, overcomplicated rules and uncoordinated actions.

"What is going on? A camera? Me too!"

Karl-Heinz

nicknamed Kalle or Osman, because of his obsession for the Orient. Born (1952), avowing "Rhinelander" and IT-specialist. His talents in organising anything are both needed and feared. Started wargaming when he was only 15 years old, using Elastolin-figures. Sometimes drifting away to role-playing and classical board games he always gets back to his roots, historical wargaming. His favourites are Balkan and oriental armies (anything from ancients to colonials) plus Napoleonic Rhinebund states. His favourite wargames-tactic is: "First shoot them to pieces and then charge!"
He manages the THS-headquarters (HQ), the THS-website and keeps in contact with other clubs. He is not to keen on competition-games, but likes travelling, drinking Bourbon & Coke and going to the cinema.

Here you can spot him tasting an edibal (!) terrain-piece, one of his more dubious contributions to the hobby.

Michael

born in the same year as Mel Gibson brought home his first Historex®-kit and the premier issue of Dungeons & Dragons® from a school trip to London in 1973. From then on calamities started with painting his first Asgard®- and Citadel®- miniatures in acrylics and playing AD&D® and Call of Cthulhu® . After studying history and geography he ended up designing miniatures for Hobby Products® (Metal Magic® …). He has and is still successfully takes part in many national and international miniature-painting-contests, building rather large dioramas and producing features for several publications (White Dwarf® etc.). He later became a managing director for Fantasy Productions® (DSA®, Shadowrun®, Battletech® etc.). Nowadays he is head of a mail-order-business for an other company. His main interests are: Organizing and painting his vast collection of miniatures, buying new miniatures to fill in the gaps, producing wargames-terrain-pieces and buildings and inventing scenarios based on Monty Python® movies. Most of his collection are Victorian Science Fiction, Steampunk Incredible Machines®, Darkest Africa®, Pulp®, Back of Beyond®, WW II®, High Medieval®, Thirty Years War®, Viking®, Arthurian British® Romans® and many, many more. Have a look at Michaels own homepage®.

Robert

was born in 1966 in Torquay on the beautiful southern coast of England. He started rather classic by reading „Lord of the Rings“, playing Dungeons & Dragons, discovering wargaming and buying his first Minifigs tunnel-elves. After a visit to Games Workshop in Hammersmith 1980 and the Gamesday 1983 he got hooked up completely. Anybody remember the large "orc with battering-ram" diorama behind the door of GW?). His first army was an ork-army (guess why) by Citadel from the fantasy-tribes-series. He prefers the unusual like squats for Warhammer 40k, steampunk miniatures and spanish colonials! He likes colonial wargaming , napoleonics (russo-swedish-war and Spanish) and ancients leading his dashing but not that effective Celts.
Apart from wargaming, his hobbies are surfing (in the Mediterranean seas or the internet) mountain biking (in the mud) und mixing rather obscure cocktails (for scientific reasons only) His latest a revolutionary discovery is: Wodka Ahoi - wodka on sherbet powder (do not try this at home!)
In this picture, he is captured asking himself, where he left the games-rules and whom to phone in the middle of the night, about that problem.!
